Institution’s Innovation Council (IIC)

The Institution’s Innovation Council (IIC) of Dr. Lankapalli Bullayya College of Engineering (Autonomous), Visakhapatnam, is established under the AICTE Innovation Cell to promote innovation, entrepreneurship, and research culture within the institution. IIC provides a structured platform for students and faculty to develop innovative ideas, participate in design thinking activities, file patents, and transform projects into start-ups. It regularly conducts workshops, hackathons, IPR awareness programs, industry interaction sessions, and entrepreneurship development activities as per AICTE guidelines. IIC strengthens the institutional ecosystem, enhances research output, and contributes to the development of an entrepreneurial mindset among students through systematic planning and implementation of innovation-driven initiatives.

Vision of IIC

To build a vibrant innovation and entrepreneurship ecosystem that nurtures creativity, research excellence, intellectual property generation, and start-up culture among students and faculty, thereby contributing to technological advancement and national development.

Mission of IIC

  • To systematically promote innovation, ideation, and design thinking practices in the institution.
  • To encourage start-up incubation, product development, and commercialization of research outcomes.
  • To strengthen industry–institute collaboration for real-time problem solving.
  • To promote IPR awareness and increase patent filing and research publications.

Functions of IIC Committee

  1. Prepare and implement annual innovation activity calendar as per AICTE guidelines.
  2. Organize workshops, seminars, hackathons, impact lectures, and start-up awareness programs.
  3. Identify and mentor student innovators and entrepreneurial teams.
  4. Facilitate patent filing, copyright registration, and IPR activities.
  5. Coordinate with incubators, industries, MSMEs, and financial institutions.
  6. Monitor and document innovation-related activities for AICTE IIC reporting.
  7. Support participation in national innovation contests and rankings such as :contentReference[oaicite:3]{index=3} (ARIIA).
  8. Review progress periodically and recommend improvement strategies.
